The army song!

*Chorus*
I don't want to be in the army
CO i want to go
OC won't let me go
CO i want to go home

They say that in the army
The food is mighty fine
You ask for curry ayam
They give you Putu Mayam

I don't want to be in the army
CO i want to go
OC won't let me go
CO i want to go home

They say that in the army
The shoes is mighty fine
You ask for size 7
They give you 49

I don't want to be in the army
CO i want to go
OC won't let me go
CO i want to go home

They say that in the army
The pay is mighty fine
They give you 100 dollars
They take back 99

I don't want to be in the army
CO i want to go
OC won't let me go
CO i want to go home

They say that in the army
The girl is mighty fine
You ask for (i forgot who)
They give you Frankenstein

I don't want to be in the army
CO i want to go
OC won't let me go
CO i want to go home

They say that in the army
The gun is mighty fine
When you pull the trigger
The bullet fire behind

I don't want to be in the army
CO i want to go
OC won't let me go
CO i want to go home

Church Camp!

The recent church camp is a huge success! The resort is nice, the food is great (buffet style!), the speaker, a Pastor from Singapore, quite famous thanks to his joke book, Rev. George Ong, simply humorous! It's impossible to sleep during his section! Here's a brief summary about what happen...

Saturday morning, we gather at our church, where we make some arrangement on transport. I get to drive a car, just a Perodua Kembara, not a great car, but get to drive, that's the main thing! Funny thing is, not sure who write our name, my name become Vincent Tan! Even my name tag written my name. Anyway, after complaining about the name, we hear some briefing from Brother Wong, the camp coordinator. Quite a lot of vehicle going, it's a pain to mention it here, i think i will just skip it. After the briefing and everyone get onboard (in my car is the car owner, An indonesian lady, Aunty Kong and Uncle Ngeow), we set off around 10am. Not sure where to go and just for the fun of it, i decide to follow the church van, which, as usual, driven none other than Kah Hong. Our first stop? For petrol, of course! The Shell station in front of the Goldfish Area is our stop. After that, we head straight for the highway, entering it at the first point, the Duta toll. During the journey is quite fun, chatting with people in my car and enjoying the scenery (it's a bit pain following the church van a bit, especially it goes only 40 km/h when climbing a hill), we reach Taiping around 2 pm. There we have our lunch at a food court. I forgot to mention that i was quite unwell that day, having difficulty in breathing, but driving is not really taxing, so i'm fine. We were amaze by the price of the food there! Imagine, Rm 3.00 for a plate of chicken rice and RM 2.50 for a plate of Char Kuay Teow! After our lunch, we set off again. The last group consist of Brother Wong APV, Church Van and my car. We set off with brother Wong in lead. I doubt he really know the route there. We end up in the Taiping Zoo! After a few round, we found the town exit and meet up with the others. It's a nice feeling, like a convoy. We reach Bukit Merah Laketown Resort about half an hour later, with me being the last, being stuck at the traffic light, but thanks Kah Hong for waiting for me. We arrive safely, but because of my illness, after checking in, i just went straight to bed. I reach room around 3.30pm, and sleep till 6.30pm! But i feel better after the nap. After bath, i go down to restaurant for dinner. Thanks to Daniel who help me in getting food and Pastor Serena for praying for my health. After dinner we have our first sermon by Rev. George Ong. As expected, he's really a funny fellow. He even bring his small guitar along! (not sure what it's call). After that, we take our supper, i switch room from my old room to Adol's room, mainly because i don't really like my roommate (the 2 Lam brothers). What a fun day!

Second day i'm awaken by Adol and William.(William reason: don't want me to skip the first section. how nice of him). After a bath, went down to same restaurant, have some really good food... And off to the first section on Cat and Dog theology by Rev. George Ong. It's a really interesting topic! It's something about we live not for ourselves but for God. Cat Christian is something like a cancer that might destroy a church according to George Ong. I wish i can say more about it, but i left the book in the car when i return in to the owner! Oh yar, before he begin the first section, we have some ice breaking, which means a song from George Ong. I forgot how the song go, maybe i will ask Sammy and post it later.Ah well. Well, after the first section and the first half of the second section ends, we go have our lunch. (which consist of fried rice and fried chicken). After that it's time to visit the theme park! I swap vehicle with Kah Hong, so i'm driving the church van. After fetching people to the theme park and park the van (which is a pain, it's so hard to park a large van like a normal vehicle), i too go and visit the theme park, as i get a free ticket to enter the Orang Utan Island and Waterpark (a combo ticket), i just need to get an extra ticket to enter the Eco Park (RM12, thanks to Kah Poh), then i can follow Kah Poh and a lot others who plan to visit the Orang Utan island and Eco Park. I wish i can enter the waterpark, most youth go there, i hear it is fun, and it will be nice playing with Edline, William, Danniel, Dennis, Kah Hong... ah well, maybe we will have chance next time. Around 5pm i start fetching people back. At the hotel after a short rest it's time for dinner! The dinner is awesome! Who would have thought we will have black pepper lamb mutton! Super delicious and suits me too. After that it's another sermon from Rev. George Ong, very interesting too. After that go back to my room (switch room again, because Adol and William checked out, so i go to Daniel room, and thanks to Daniel for taking my bag, i can't do any heavy duty job that time). That room is crowded, with Daniel, Dennis, Kah Poh, Kah Hong and me. But well, they say the more the merrier, and it's true. It's F1 in Canada, we watch for a bit, then we go sleep. (disturb by Daniel, who come back from Winnie room at 1am).

Third day and the last day of camp. Waken up by loud conversation, after a bath we went for breakfast, then for the second half of the section 2 of the cat and dog theology. Before we begin, Rev. George Ong start with another song again, this time about army. I will post it later. I must say this section is very deep and interesting. The danger of being a cat christian. After the section end we got another briefing from Brother Wong about transport arrangement, and i am quite happy that i will be fetching the car owner, Aunty Kong, Sammy and Winnie. Some youth at last! After we pack our bags into the car, we go have our lunch at the restaurant. Same wonderful foods. After our lunch, we head back. I think we are the first to leave, the church van and my car, with Dennis family heading to Ipoh. Before we arrive in KL we make a detour to Kampar, getting some famous local delicacies, then we head back. It was raining heavily on our journey back, i half thanks and half curse the car i'm driving. For one thing, the viper is not really fully functional, but being a high 4 wheel drive car, even when you drive across a pool of water at the side of the road, you don't feel anything. We make it safely home around 7pm. What a wonderful weekend it have been! Praise the Lord.

Sleepy

Yes, sleepy! For 2 days i have been sleeping for about 4 hours only! On Friday night i go to bed around 2 am, watching Tsubasa Chronicle Reservoir with my sis, then on Saturday morning wake up at 6.30 am, to catch an early bus to Genting. I accompany my sis for an job interview in Resort Hotel, Genting Highland. I don't know how long it takes to arrive, so i plan to get the earliest bus, because my sis need to reach before afternoon, because uncle Paul have to work during afternoon. There are a lot of people wanting to go to Genting that day, as a results i reach Pekeliling at 8am, but can only bought the 10am ticket (there's a bus every half an hour). But luckily we are able to board the the 9.30 am bus. We reach safely, but upon reaching, we found out that there are a lot of peoples, and there are no more vacancies for temporary staff! Later we go for a breakfast with uncle Paul in a restaurant opposite to one of the entrance to Monte Carlo, a place call Lao Di Fang (old place). We have our breakfast, chat, then board the 1pm bus to KL. We arrive safely, despite the jam near Pekeliling. Then we go for a meal with Ah Xiang (driving the Sonata!), then i have to rush back to Aunty Lily to wait for Kah Poh, as he will fetch me to Pastor Serena's house for the Mathew and Friends event.

About the event? I have to say the story is very nice. And the songs also not bad :P. It's a true story too. The event ends at 10pm (the prayers takes 30 mins!), then i rush back home to go outing with Ah Xiang and Ah Joe. Reach home around 2.45am, then straight to sleep.

On Sunday, have to wake up at 6.30am (again!), because Uncle Simon fetching me, Marie and Evonne to church first, because Kah Poh is not available. But it was a bit pointless! We reach church around 7.10 am, but because we don't have the key, we can't get in! We have to wait until the first person with the key arrive, Aunty Michelle, who arrive at 7.45am! By the time i setting up the mics, Aunty Lily already arrive! She look at me and ask: Now only you set up the mic?" I reply "We just got in the church!".

Today worship is a bit different than normal. For once, Marie is the song leader, while the other 2 main song leader, Winnie and Kah Hong, become the back up (i asked them to). And secondly, we don't have our musicians, as all are not available (Marie the drummer, Kah Poh the pianist, and David the bass player, William, who not always available, the guitarist), so we import from the english congregation. The musicians today include Paul as the guitarist, Joon Kit as the bass player, and Aoran as the drummer. The PA system normal today, but have to be alert. Today the music is rather different from the one i usually hear, and the first time i see Marie as the song leader, so it's a bit hard. I wonder if it's because of stage fright, but Marie sang the songs a bit different from what i usually heard today (i don't dare to say it's wrong, maybe it's her style). But overall, it's a nice performance. Kah Hong and Winnie does a good job as back up. But really, it's the first time i see Marie become the song leader, and also the first time i see we have to import musicians from the english congregation. Keep it up Marie, you'll improve!

Sayonara Chew Sensei

Last Thursday, it was the last day of the week for study, and the last day my class will be seeing Mr Chew. He will be transfer to the Despark Headquarters in Petaling Jaya next week, and then on March next year he will be going overseas to Wyotech. Mr Chew is one of the best trainer in Klang branch, for when he found a problem with the car, he will try his best to solve it, even if it drags for hours. That day, when he teach my class fuel system, the car under his care couldn't start, so he go and fix it for hours with us until the engine can be start. Most trainer won't do that (our practical only involves taking out the fuel pump!). I wish him luck and all the best in his life. He's a good person, hope he will succeed in his life.

Dinner with church member

Last Friday it's my first time went out for dinner in Pizza Hut with the other youth church member. There are 10 peoples, which is:

-Winnie
-Daniel
-Dennis
-Kah Poh
-Kah Hong
-Marie
-Evonne
-Su Hui
-Me
-Kah Lun

We ate quite alot! 3 large pizza, 1 regular pizza, 6 soups of the day (mushroom soup), 2 large pasta, 1 pitcher of pepsi, 2 set of breadstick, and one set of garlic bread. It was fun, seeing that this is the first time i have my dinner with my other church member. Jokes are common (that's to be expected to be sitting beside Kah Poh). Start around 6.30 pm, ends around 7.45pm(wow). Later we went back church to discuss about the event Mathew and Friends and continue with the drama practise.

During meal time. From right: Winnie, Kah Lun, Marie, Su Hui

The other side of the table. From left: Kah Poh, Daniel, Dennis, Kah Hong (hidden), Kah Poh's mum, Su Hui, Marie. The pasta looks nice, and the pitcher is empty, Kah Poh drinks it all?

Me and Kah Poh while waiting for the second round pizza. Don't know what's the bright thing down there, and what's with that face Kah Poh?

By the way, Kah Poh pays the bill. And the bill? Rm 170.

Ouch

Haven't been active here lately, mainly because i don't know what to post. Recently quite a few things happen. I have move from my old room to a new room. The rent is more expensive, the bill will be more expensive.. (come on, 3 lappy, a PSP, a tv, and soon one more lappy?), but at the bright side, i got a room of my own! How cool is that? And it's on 17th floor, and and more importantly, no keong gor! Also, yesterday i hit my head hard on the hoist jack. It hurts! Just hope it recover soon. Tomorrow going back to KL, so will be spending some time in KL. Christmas around the corner, we haven't even start practicing, wonder how our performance going to be. Friday got practise, Saturday got Mathew and friends ( i looking forward to play badminton). Haiz, busy busy. On the bright side, the sem break is around the corner, it's on 18th till 27th, i will be at KL.
